Sometimes you think: what does that mean again? What does it stand for? AFK, LOL, AGI, DAU, EOBD. But then you don’t ask and have already forgotten it again. I took the trouble to explain abbreviations from the category innovation and tech here.

WHAT DOES RFID ACTUALLY MEAN? RFID = RADIO-FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION

Wikipedia says: RFID (English radio-frequency identification, i.e. “identification using electromagnetic waves”). RFID denotes a technology for transmitter-receiver systems for the automatic and contactless identification and localization of objects and living beings using radio waves. An RFID system consists of a transponder, located on or in the object or living being and containing an identifying code, and a reader for reading out this identifier. RFID transponders can be as small as a grain of rice and be implanted, for example in pets. The price of the cheapest transponders is in the cent range, and since November 1, 2010 such chips are also in the German identity card. The coupling happens through alternating magnetic fields generated by the reader at short range or through high-frequency radio waves. This not only transmits data but also supplies the transponder with energy.
