HEDRA - SUDDENLY EVERYTHING CAN TALK
Hedra is the new star in the AI video sky. With this AI tool I can make images speak and sing, up to 300 characters or 30 seconds. For free!!
And that’s already the point. When something on the internet is free, then – exactly – we are the product. In this case we are – the people who play with Hedra and post their results on YouTube, X and everywhere else. Free promo for the new player. Test the waters. Make the name Hedra known. Because the actual mega feature and the reason why we should keep an eye on Hedra hasn’t even been released yet! I’ll show you at the very end, of course, so you watch the post all the way through. OVERVIEW
So, Hedra. The interface is built very simply. On the left you can throw in text or an audio file and choose an English speaker. In the middle you have an image generated or upload your own. And on the right side you press to generate, and my finished video appears there too.
It takes about 2–5 minutes on average. Then you can download the video. Don’t be alarmed. Mini files end up in your download folder. The resolution is only 512×512 pixels so far. But then it’s free, too.

The built-in speakers can currently only do English. But I always have the option to record something myself or use other tools like elevenlabs for that.
MISSION
My current mission is to generate a music video with AI, and on the way I’ve already tested LTX Studio, KREA AI, PIKA, HAIPER and Runway. And since SORA, KLING and Runway Gen-3 aren’t publicly available yet, I played with LUMA LABS’ DREAM MACHINE again for my HEDRA test. So vocals from HEDRA and cutaway images for my music video from the DREAM MACHINE. My favorite music genre is trip hop – but for this test I had a heavy metal song created on Suno. The song is called “ROBOT REBELLION” and is about robots having had enough of us humans and starting a rebellion. Of course – HEDRA makes it possible – even 3 different robots sing the lyrics here.
With a 512 by 512 aspect ratio you would actually have to upscale the HEDRA clips now. But the upscalers currently only process videos up to 10 seconds… HEDRA will surely get an upscale button soon. Plus a button for different aspect ratios. Possibly with a paid model. I’m only interested in the proof of concept – the quality will improve on its own.

I had a lot of fun editing with this material. That was only 1.5 minutes. For a “normal” music video you’d have to put in about twice the effort. But with 30 seconds generated in one go, HEDRA simply has the edge at the moment!
THE MEGA FEATURE
At the beginning I promised to show you what’s actually exciting about HEDRA – and it has nothing to do with talking photos at all.
In this video you see someone working with keyframes. That is, really influencing the composition in detail. And that’s what we’re all looking for, right? Having AI spit something out, that works on lots of platforms by now. But real creation only comes with something like this!
When will it be available to the public? No idea!
CONCLUSION

But what do I think of HEDRA? At the moment it’s a great toy – free marketing! But I have the feeling anyway that many AI companies are currently thinking: “Fuck it – ship it”. Before the competition comes to market with a comparable product, I’d rather put my half-finished portal online and let people beta test.
